Baptism
|
|
 |
Christian
baptism, according to the Bible, is an outward
testimony of what has occurred inwardly in a
believer’s life. Christian baptism illustrates a
believer’s identification with Christ’s death,
burial, and resurrection. The Bible declares, “Or
don't you know that all of us who were baptized into
Christ Jesus were baptized into his death? We were
therefore buried with Him through baptism into death
in order that, just as Christ was raised from the
dead through the glory of the Father, we too may
live a new life” (Romans 6:3-4 NIV). In Christian
baptism, the action of being immersed in the water
pictures being buried with Christ. The action of
coming out of the water pictures Christ’s
resurrection.
In Christian baptism, there should be
two requirements before a person is baptized: (1)
the person being baptized must have trusted in Jesus
Christ as Savior, and (2) the person must understand
what baptism signifies. If a person knows the Lord
Jesus as Savior, understands that Christian baptism
is a step of obedience in publicly proclaiming his
faith in Christ, and desires to be baptized – then
there is no reason to prevent the believer from
being baptized. According to the Bible, Christian
baptism is simply a step of obedience, a public
proclamation of one’s faith in Christ alone for
salvation. Christian baptism is important because it
is a step of obedience – publicly declaring faith in
Christ and commitment to Him, and identification
with Christ’s death, burial, and resurrection. |

Life Groups

"They devoted themselves to the apostles’ teaching and to the
fellowship, to the breaking of bread and to prayer. Everyone was
filled with awe, and many wonders and miraculous signs were done
by the apostles. All the believers were together and had
everything in common. Selling their possessions and goods, they
gave to anyone as he had need. Everyday they continued to meet
together in the temple courts. They broke bread in their homes and
ate together with glad and sincere hearts praising God and
enjoying the favor of all the people. And God added to their
number daily those who were being saved.” Acts 2:42 - 2:47
Life Groups are a vital part of the
Vision of Frontline.
The people of the "Acts Church" met in their homes to break bread
with each other and share and discuss the scriptures. It’s a
wonderful and exciting way to grow in our relationship with God.
Life Groups
meet throughout the week in people's homes, in small groups (12 to 15
people) called Cells. This provides an easy setting to get
together, form great relationships and apply biblical principles to our
lives.
Although we
recognize that people have different gifts and strengths, we
believe that everyone is called to fulfill the great commission
set out in Matthew 28, to share the good news of
Jesus Christ. Pastor Rick Rocco
has always known how important it is to train up people in
biblical principles. And we see that goal being met.
If you're a member of
Frontline Christian Church and are interested in becoming a
Life Group facilitator, you can call the church office and
speak with Lisa Rocco or Emily Baxter.
Let's not miss out on
the incredible tool of meeting in each other’s homes, to grow and become
more like Christ!

Missions
|
|
 |
Missions, simply put, is bringing the
Gospel of Jesus Christ to those who don't know Him
as their Lord and Savior. It knows no limits in
territory, people, places, or methods used to reach
those who are lost.
During our "Developing a Servants
Heart" series we learned that, God's call to each individual is
unique. He uses their upbringing, surrounding
environment, and experiences and couples them with
His vision, goals and desires, to shape them into a
unique tool for His hands to mold and guide and use.
Eph 4:10 says that, "we are Gods workmanship,
created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which He
prepared in advance for us to do."
Matthew 28:18-20: "Therefore go and make disciples
of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the
Father, and the Son, and the Holy Spirit, teaching
them to observe all that I commanded you; and surely
I am with you always, even to the end of the age."
God's Command, to Love Him and Love Others,
drives us towards His Commission to Go, Make
Disciples, Baptize, and Teach, which is enabled by
His Power and His Presence.
Why do we go on
mission trips?
To reach the lost for Jesus and to train
participants how to hear God's voice and to have a
heart for the lost. We are not only trying to reach
this generation of lost people, but trying to
disciple other Christians, especially youth, to
reach the lost until Christ returns.
